Are there really any keys to Network Marketing Prospecting success? It’s obvious there are or else you wouldn’t see the type of outrageous success some distributors seem to effortlessly attain. Although, the path to success isn’t always the same for everyone, there are proven steps you can take to ensure you have success in your mlm prospecting. Here are Five Keys To Prospecting Success: (1) Know Who You Should Work With One of the keys to Network Marketing is recognizing that you don't have to nor should you sponsor every person that comes your way. This is the beauty of having leads come to you instead of the other way around. You get to choose who to work with and who not to. Not only is this key to your prospecting success but it's also a huge benefit. Just think about how much relief you put on yourself when you realize you’ll put on yourself when you realize you don't have to sponsor every person that calls you. One of my favorite bloggers, Steve Pavlina, once wrote and article entitled "10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job." In it he makes a great point. He mentions that being an entrepreneur means that you don't ever have to work with anybody that you don't want to. In all of my years working at a job, there have been so many bosses, colleagues, and customers that, given the choice, I would not have worked with. (They may say the same about me). (2) Recognize The 80/20 Rule Another one of the keys to Network Marketing prospecting is recognizing that 80% of your income, sales, and mlm downline expansion will come from 20% of your people. Most prospects simply won’t have the longevity to stick through all the challenges they’ll experience. Others won’t have the time or dedication to develop the marketing and sales skills that are vital to success. Knowing this beforehand can help you set proper expectations for yourself and your team. Just because these numbers aren't in your favor doesn’t give you an excuse to be pessimistic though. Let this data inspire you and your team to not be part of the 80% that don’t succeed. (3) Take Massive Action Another one of the keys to Network Marketing prospecting success is to become a "doer. Network Marketing is all about taking action. Set a good example for your team by taking massive action with your mlm prospecting. You'll want to cultivate this same type of mentality from your mlm prospects and team as well. In your prospecting efforts, be cautious about spending too much time with what I like to call "talkers." We all know who these people are. Rather than take action, they’d rather gab all day long about how this, that, and the other thing should be done. They find every excuse they can for why something wont work. Ironically, they also somehow think that by talking about how things "should be" or "ought to be," they're going to change the world. The only way anything's ever going to get done is to take action. Don’t fall into the trap of getting caught up in long, unproductive conversations. Your business and your livelihood are at stake. (4) Cultivate A Winning Attitude For You And Your Team They often say attitude determines your altitude. I'm not sure if that's a true or not but one thing's for sure. Your attitude will determine what type of actions you take (if any). Same goes for your recruits. If taking action is the only way anything is ever accomplished, then it's obvious we need to keep our attitudes positive so we don't feel helpless and not do anything. Make sure your team stays upbeat. Or, simply refuse to work with those that aren't. Life is too short to work with those that do nothing but "suck" the life out of your mlm team. (5) Keep Your Prospects' Best Interests' At Heart The last key to Network Marketing prospecting success is to always make your prospects' needs a priority. Advise your prospects on the best "course of action" for themselves; staying impartial as to whether they join your business or not. After assessing your prospects needs and wants, you may realize that they won’t be a good fit for you and your team. Be a consultant in the truest sense of the word and you'll recruit better people. You'll have more prospects than you can handle because people will come to trust you and your opinion. Don't worry, you'll find PLENTY of people that will be a good fit for your businesses. Following these five keys to Network Marketing prospecting success will ensure you look out for yours and your recruits’ best interest. This is a long-term business building strategy that will pay you HUGE dividends. You’ll recruit better prospects, have a more positive atmosphere within your team, and reap the benefits of being an entrepreneur.
