Why SEO Is a Good Lead Generation Technique For Network Marketers
Why bother using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as a lead generation technique for your mlm business?.... Network Marketers interested in generating leads for their business online are regularly faced with different options for lead generation. Social media, video creation, article marketing, and ezine advertising are just a few that come to mind. In fact, social media advertising is getting so much attention these days, as a marketer, you may wonder why you should even bother with search engine optimization. I mean, wouldn't it be easier to post a few tweets on Twitter
or advertise to your friends on
Facebook? That sounds alot easier than trying to optimize your content for Search Engines doesn't it? Although Social Media and other marketing avenues may appear easier on paper, I don't believe they yield nearly the results you'd have using SEO as a lead generation technique. Perhaps, if you knew more about SEO and the benefits of it, you could more easily focus your efforts here, rather than jumping around from one lead generation technique to the next. Online lead generation starts by generating traffic to your content. This can be an article you've written, a post at your blog, or even a video you created. Once your content is "live" (on the net) you want people to visit it. SEO is just one of the many ways to get traffic to your posts.

Call me old-fashioned, but I still believe that hard work pays off in business. Lead generation is no different. Especially if you're looking to generate high quality and/or free network marketing leads. Posting a few tweets here and there on Twitter or making 100's of friends on Facebook alone simply aren't going to bring you the traffic you need. The majority of your leads are going to find your content through search engines. Think about how often you go onto social networking sites looking for solutions? You mainly go there to connect with friends don't you? When you want answers and you want them fast, you rely on Google to get the information you need. Not only that, but the prospects that find you via search engines will be targeted and better qualified leads. This can mainly be attributed to the way search engines work. For example: if someone types in keyword "network marketing coach" in a search engine, it's very likely that person is interested in finding an mlm coach. What if your content were to rank high (preferably in the top 10)? What if your content were to OVER-deliver solid information to the prospect? How much more qualified would that lead become? Compare this to marketing your content on social sites. You really have no way of knowing if your so-called "friends" are even interested in the topic you post. The fact of the matter is, it doesn't get any more targeted than with search engines. SEO As A Lead Generation Technique Compared to Paid Advertising Many Network Marketers wonder why they should ever focus on SEO as a lead generation technique. Especially, when they can just throw an ad up on Google or an ezine and instantly get traffic to their site (SEO takes time before you see any traffic). I have no objections to using paid advertising and have heard 100's of success stories from people effectively using it to generate tons of leads. On the other hand, one downfall to using paid advertising methods such as Google adsense and ezines, is that once you stop paying for the advertising, you're traffic stops. If you can learn the art of SEO, it will pay you dividends long after the fact. You do the work once and bear the fruits of your labors (in the form of more leads and sales) for years to come. Isn't that what network marketers are all about anyway?... Enhance Your Credibility with SEO Whenever I type in a keyword to a search engine and access a web page from the SE listing, I can't help but assume the site is an authority and credible. Especially, if the site has lots of content contained within it. Search engine spiders have hundreds of ways of measuring the quality and value of a websites' content. They continuously get better at recognizing which sites people are gaining value from, and which ones are causing people to hit the back button on their browser. If you can get your content to rank high on the search engines, it enhances your credibility one hundred fold. People are automatically going to assume you're a credible expert on that subject just by the very fact that you're online and ranking high.
