How an MLM Home Business Affiliate Program Can Help You Maximize Your Network Marketing Efforts
You may be familiar with the concept of mlm home business affiliate programs but haven't quite grasped the importance of them for your business. In the past, Network Marketers were never taught to treat their mlm like a real business.
Nowadays, with the internet at our disposal, its' not only possible for any serious Network Marketer to maximize his/her business using affiliate programs, but also necessary.
What is a an MLM Affiliate Program?
An MLM home business affiliate program is a way for you to earn commissions by referring people to a product. The product can be either a physical product (i.e. juice drink, etc) or an informational product like an ebook. The product you are promoting is not your own, and therefore won't have to provide alot of the sales content and/or back end customer support or service.
When promoting the product, you are given a special link to promote. If a customer clicks on the link and buys the product, you get paid. Most affiliate programs will pay you anywhere from 25-75% commissions to promote and refer their products.
It's truly a win-win situation for you and the person who's product you are promoting. The company doesn't have to provide additional advertising and you won't have to provide a sales system or customer support.
How an MLM Home Business Affiliate Program can help you?
You're probably wondering how affiliate products can help you with your mlm business? In order to answer this question, it's helpful if we first address one of the biggest problems Network Marketers face...
Positive cash-flow
Most Network Marketers (excluding those that never even "try"), savvy as they may be, have trouble staying afloat in their business long enough for their ultimate goal of "massive residual income" to kick in (studies show anywhere from 1-4 years). Most don't have the time, money, or patience to wait that long before showing a profit in their business.
The costs associated with being a Network Marketer can be fairly high in respect to upfront commisions earned. Especially after you add up advertising costs, product auto-shipments, and company seminars. Not to mention the fact that most people don't make enough in the business to cover their montly expenses such as food, clothing, and housing.
The solution?...
An MLM home business affiliate program. Most affiliate programs, unlike Network Marketing, don't require any monthly fees to be able to promote and earn commisions. You simply promote other people's products and earn a commisison on the sale. Because the majority of the products are low cost your close rate will be much higher. You'll be able to get into positive cash flow much faster than trying to "wait it out" until your mlm commissions start to kick in.
Leverage Your Efforts With an MLM Home Business Affiliate Program
One of the great things about combining Network Marketing affiliate programs with your existing model is more leads. If you promote affiliate products related to Network Marketing, oftentimes those products will contain a lead generation system built into the product.
For example: If you promote the Renegade Network Marketer ebook, once someone purchases the book from you, you are given access to their name, phone number, and email address
Afterward, you can follow up with each lead and sell your mlm opportunity or other products if you wish. It works great because those who buy the product show they are actively interested in building their mlm. This means they are a highly qualified mlm lead. Your opportunity, expertise, and coaching are perfect "back-end" products.
What to Look for in an MLM Home Business Affiliate Program
Here are some questions to ask yourself when decided what type of mlm home business affiliate program to promote.
- Will the product enhance or detract from my credibility?
In other words, is it a product that will genuinely help people or not? You don't want to abuse the trust of your prospects or leads by promoting junk products.
- Do you have to purchase the product in order to be able to promote it?
If a product requires you to purchase it before you can promote it, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Buying a product and using it will give you insight other affiliates won't be able to provide. That being said, you shouldn't have to buy every product you want to promote. Remember, we're trying to get into a positive cash flow.
- Is there an MLM lead generation system built into it?
Anytime you can kill two birds with one stone you should go for it. Why not make money and generate leads at the same time? There are several affiliate programs that offer this service (The Renegade System, Magnetic Sponsoring, and Renegade Professional are 3 that come to mind)
- How many tiers of compensation are built into the program?
Some affiliate programs have a 2 tier program built into them so you get paid two levels deep. If you bring in a lead or a sale and that person signs up to be an affiliate, you get paid a percentage of what they bring in. This is music to a Network Marketers' ears.
- How much does it pay per sale?
Most affiliate network marketing programs will pay anywhere from 25-75% per sale. Anything above 35% is fair depending on the product cost in my opinion. You'll have to judge this on your own to see if the payout is worth the effort put in to make the sale.
When pondering those questions, you'll also want to decide how important each of those factors are to you and your business model. In my opinion, question #1 is the most important question to ask youself. If a product is worth promoting because it will truly help your prospects, the other spiffs that come along with the mlm home business affiliate program (i.e. pay, tier structure, etc) are just added bonuses.
