MLM Lead Training:

The 3 Elements That Make Up a Goal

Many of the mlm lead training courses available today make a concerted effort to teach you everything you'll ever need to know about mlm lead generation.

This is so important because without a consistent flow of leads and proper conversion, (along with a million other components) a business doesn't stand a chance of surviving against other business' that have mastered the art.

Because mlm lead training puts so much emphasis on learning to generate a bazillion leads, trainees sometimes forget what they are trying to accomplish in the first place. They neglect their reasons for starting a network marketing business and lose track of their ultimate purpose.

If this does happen to you or your team, you can quickly get back on track by setting proper goals.

If you can establish the habit setting clear goals for yourself, you'll be more easily able to keep yourself motivated day after day; even when problems arise. Not only that, but you'll establish a concrete time-line for achievement as well as identify a list of instructions you can follow for predictable results.

As part of an ongoing mlm lead training process, allow me to discuss the 3 elements of Goals along with a simple 6-step self questioning process you can walk yourself through with any goal to gain a better understanding of your next steps.

MLM Lead Training: The 3 Elements of Goal Setting

Think of it this way. If you were building a fire, in order to make it burn you'd need three things: air, oxygen, and fuel. All three must be present to keep the flame lit. If you were to omit any one of these elements from the equation, you're fire would quickly be extinguished or never start at all.

The same applies for effective goals and goal setting. Here are the 3 elements needed.

(1) Identify the "What"

The "what" of goal setting is one of the easiest, yet often overlooked elements.

In fact, research suggests less than 3% of people have clearly defined goals. Sure, we all make the annual new years resolution to "lose weight" or "spend more time with our families". Yet those goals are so loosley-defined it's not wonder they rarely pan out.

In order to accomplish anything at all you must first, in clear specific detail, identify what it is you'd like to do. It's also essential to write down what your goal is and post it in a place that you will see it often. The act of writing your goals down forces you to get ultra-specific on what you want to do.

(2) Identify the "Why"

In his book, 177 Mental Toughness Secrets of the World Class" mental toughness expert Steve Seibold writes, "The middle class coaches through logic, the world class coaches through emotion."

In other words, top-notch performers know how to push their own (and others) hot buttons and force themselves to perform at increasingly higher levels. Recognizing "why" you'd like to accomplish your goal, encourages you to keep your emotions in tact and push yourself through the tough times. I'd also encourage you, in your mlm lead training, to push the buttons of your team.

For example: If your "what" is to "earn $50,000 your first year in business." Your "why" might sound something like this:

"I want to earn $50,000 my first year in business so I can quit my job and stay home with my family. I'll be able to watch my kids grow up and ensure I wont need a second job. The wife and I will have so much more time with each other and could even spend our nights together watching movies.

I'll have more time to workout and pursue hobbies and interests because I can avoid the long commute."

(3) Identify the "How"

Uh oh!! This might be the most dreaded of all 3 elements. Creating a "how", a road map or plan if you will, requires a real time investment not only in learning the skills needed, but also the dedication to sit down with a pen and paper and create your own blueprint to success.

Not only that, but you'll need to consistently re-evaluate your goals on an annual, quarterly, monthly, and even weekly basis.

Make no mistake. The "how" is the one thing most distributors are seeking.

In order for any goal to be accomplished, at least those three elements must be present.

MLM Lead Training: A Six-Step Self-Questioning Process

If you'd like to take things a step further, here's 6 components of goal setting that will help you zero-in even further.

Who- Who will be involved? Chances are you won't have to go at it alone. Look to your upline, mentors, or mastermind groups.

What- Ask yourself what you'd like to accomplish. Once again, be specific.

Where- Where are you in relation to your goal? Knowing this gives you a starting point.

When- When do you expect to finish this achievement? Set a deadline to add a little fire under your belt.

Why- Why would you like to accomplish this goal? Get clear.

How- How can you accomplish your goal in the fastest and most efficient way? I would invest in some mlm training programs and take massive action.

There you have it. The 3 mlm lead training elements needed for any goal to be accomplish-able along with 6 additional key components of goal setting.

I'm confident that if you diligently apply this process to your mlm business, you'll be amazed at the results you'll see. Don't delay any longer. Take action today by sitting down with a pen and paper and setting some goals.
