How to Develop the Right Mindset for Phone Prospecting

Before you begin calling your network marketing phone lead, it is essential to develop the proper mindset.

The problem is, not everyone knows the correct mindset to have when working with a network marketing phone lead. Even those that understand attraction marketing at it's best still miss this concept from time to time.

Rest assured, if you can master the proper methods and mental make-up associated with phone prospecting, there won't be much to stop you from going on a sponsoring rampage.

In this article we'll focus on the mindset.

The Importance of Developing the Right Mindset

(You'll wanna know this before you call a single network marketing phone lead)

Have you ever read a self help book or listened to a personal growth audio that talks about developing your "inner" and "outer" self?"

If you haven't, the basic idea is to get in the right frame of mind, while simultaneously taking specific actions to bring about a desired result.

For example: Say you're lifting weights at the gym. Not only will you want to have the right attitude of wanting greater muscle mass and health, you'll also simultaneously need to properly perform the weight lifting reps.

The weight lifting "frame of mind" and "techniques" are two seperate aspects. You can definately perform one without the other, but with minimal results.

In order to complete just about any significant task properly, you need to not only understand and embrace the "big picture" but you'll also need to perform the nitty-gritty details.

What is the Proper Mindframe to Develop?

The proper mindset we need when speaking to a network marketing phone lead is one of VALUE.

You won't make any money in business (especially network marketing) unless you provide value.

If you don't believe me, think of a business or person you regularly buy from? Any business at all. It could be your local grocer, a gym membership, or even guitar lessons.

Do you buy from them because they ONLY focus on themselves? Do you purchase from them because they DON'T satisfy your wants and needs?

Of course you don't..and neither will your customers.

The only way to approach your network marketing phone lead (at first) is to focus your efforts 100% on the OTHER person.

Focus on your network marketing phone lead. Their wants, needs, desires, challenges, etc.

Start Out By Giving Them What They Want

Start by giving your network marketing phone lead what they want.

"How do you know what they want?"

The best way to know what a customer is interested in, is to evaluate what type of marketing channels they came through in order to get to you.

For example: If someone visits your blog and reads an article about "How to Pick the Right MLM for your situation" and you invite them to contact you afterwards...they are probably interested in that or a similar topic.

Expand on that. Ask questions. Find out what you can do to help somebody. If you've generated a lead/phone call you're 90% ahead of MOST Network Marketers out there and you can offer something of value.

It's not even really that important what you give to your prospect, as long as it's something they are interested in.

The idea behind phone prospecting is to continue on in the spirit of attraction marketing and offer value BEFORE you ask for a sale.

Cultivating the proper frame-of-mind before you ever call a network marketing lead will ensure you focus on the other person by giving them what they want. Doing so will naturally allow you to sponsor more people, retain those downline members longer, and enjoy your phone prospecting more.
