Before Calling a Prospect
Lead For Network Marketing...

Check These Three Tasks off Your List

People often begin calling a prospect lead for network marketing without any real network marketing plans for prospecting.

They get all excited to prospect and begin right away to "shoot from the hip" without any organization or understanding of the prospecting process.

This creates a bad name for ourselves and the network marketing industry.

If we fail to adequately prepare for our phone calls, our credibility is shot and it's difficult for our prospects to trust us.

In order to have long-term success, one needs to make a solid plan for phone prospecting. It's all about being organized and keeping yourself in a solid direction. Here's a three fold strategy that will help you make network marketing plans specific to phone prospecting. It explores 3 different areas.

Prospect Lead For Network Marketing Step 1: Pre-Plan For the Phone Call

You've heard me talk about staying organized before and phone prospecting is no different. Before you get ready to call your leads, there's a few things you're going to want to familiarize yourself with. Here they are in no particular order.

Tracking Sheets - Whether you create your own sheets or download from someone else, you'll need to start tracking your progress. Everything from "messages left" to "appointments scheduled" should be notated. Call Guide - You can create your own or find one online. This is not a script but more of a fundamental process document that helps you stay on track.

Notes Sheet - Simple as it may sound, you'll want to take notes while speaking with a prospect to make sure you present an appropriate solution to their needs. In addition, should you need to make multiple contacts, you'll want to have notes to reference your previous conversations.

Time Zone Chart - Be mindful of what time you're calling your leads. Personally, I don't like to call any later than 8:00 their time.

Have Your Computer on - In case your prospect lead for network marketing has questions about your company, comp plan, or marketing system, you'll want to be able to walk them to the website to validate your claims.

Prospect Lead For Network Marketing Step 2: Plan Your Call

Planning your call is just as important as the first step. It's a plan for success. Plan with the full intention of giving this whole prospecting process a shot.

Here's a simple 5 step process you can walk yourself through each day before calling leads.

(A) Take a look at your appointments scheduled for the day.

(B) Check to see how much "available" time you have to work with that day.

(C) Break your day into segments around the other aspects of your life.

(D) Determine how many prospecting segements to work in that day (plan breaks, breather, etc)

(E) Schedule administration work (organization, planning etc) during time you can't call.

Prospect Lead For Network Marketing Step 3: Pay Close Attention

Sort out your leads by Potential customers and current customers. Then, use the appropriate tools to contact each person. Here's a few questions you can ask yourself before picking up the phone.

What is it I know this person is looking for? (You'll get this info from your lead capture pages if you've positioned your lead appropriately. Be mindful of how you generated that lead so you can tailor your message). Did they come from your website? Is this a purchased lead or self generated lead? Did they come from one of your funded proposal systems?

Once you've identified where they came from, you want to plan the encounter with them from start to finish. What is your objective to the phone call? Once you've done that, gather any tools you'll need for the phone call. (website, comp. plan, etc.)

Look at your lead as a person. Picture the person face to face from you and picture yourself interviewing them to see how you can serve them. They're real. Ultimately this is what network marketing is about. It's not about the crazy numbers or generating 1,000,000's of leads everyday. It's about personal relationship building.

Making these three steps a consistent process with each individual prospect lead for network marketing will help you master the art of self discipline.

You'll gain so much more confidence which will help you stay calm and relaxed on the phone. Not only that, but you can teach your future downline members to duplicate this process for even greater lasting success.
