Here are some things about the Renegade Network Marketer ebook that I disliked:
Three Things I Disliked About the Book
(1) The book doesn't take into account how long it really takes and how much work it takes for people to learn internet attraction marketing skills.
Maybe it's just me, but the book gave me the impression that attracting leads using the internet wasn't really that hard and all you have to do is write some articles, throw up some pay-per-click campaigns and you'll be flooded with phone calls.
Wrong.
Internet attraction marketing is tons of fun and definitely alot more effective and efficient than outdated prospecting methods.
That doesn't mean that it doesn't take time to learn or that it's not hard. Realistically, most Network Marketers have to build their business part time and there's alot to learn with the internet. It may take months if not years to see any real results generating leads.
(2) The book is a strategy only, there aren't really any useful specific tactics you can implement.
Mark Joyner once taught me a wonderful lesson.
He asked the question, "What's the difference between "strategy" and "tactics?" He then went on the explain that a strategy is an overview of how something is going to play out, a "birds-eye view" of the plan if you will.
Tactics, on the other hand, are the specific actions you take to put that strategy to work. It's the nitty-gritty details of how to implement a plan. (i.e. "click here, go to this website, write this, etc")
Well, the Renegade Network Marketer ebook provides you with a beautiful strategy for attracting leads for your business. You learn everything you need to know about why you should do this and it makes perfect sense.
I was however, very disappointed to find that there were no clear instructions on how to actually do what Ann Seig is teaching. So many of her ideas were "conceptual" ideas and at no point did I ever really feel like I knew how to do what she was teaching.
I sort of felt "hung out to dry" if you will. It was if the book just said "Here's the main concepts on how to build your business, now go out there and do it."
(3) For people who struggle with the "technical side" of things, there's no training on how to set up those aspects of your marketing system.
This point relates specifically to my last point.
The book isn't mindful of the fact that alot of people reading it will understand the concepts, but they won't be able to figure out how to use the internet to attract leads. Especially those who are "technically challenged."
In the book Ann Seig gives examples of ways you can market using the internet using blogs, PPC advertising, ezine articles, etc. Most people have no idea what those things are let alone how to set them up and use them.
What to Realistically Expect From The Renegade Network Marketer
The Renegade Network Marketer is considered a masterpiece by alot of people due to the fact that it was one of the first of it's kind to actually call out the Network Marketing industry and teach people that what they've been taught it wrong.
It outlines a better strategy on how to use effective sales and marketing techniques to build and attract leads.
That being said, the book, as well as it is written is just a strategy The strategy is very well explained and WILL help you see your business clearer but it is only a strategy.
It's up to you to figure out how to implement that strategy to attract business. If you choose to use the strategy outlined you'll need to learn internet marketing skills such as:
- Setting up websites and blogs
- Creating content
- Generating traffic to your website(s)
- Converting that traffic into leads/sales
and plenty more.
There are programs out there that will assist you with all of the faucets of internet attraction marketing. I just don't want to give anyone the impression that the $67 ebook is all they're going to ever need.
How the Renegade Network Marketer Can Help Your Business
We've already talked alot about what the Renegade Network Marketer ebook is and what to expect from the book, good and bad.
There are some other things you get with this ebook that are important to know about because they can help you with your business.
First, if you do choose to buy the Renegade Network marketer, you have the option of becoming an affiliate for the book.
The affiliate program is pretty neat because you can get paid on two levels. The other cool thing about it, is any time someone buys the book from you, they can become a lead for you. You are given their information (i.e. name and phone number).
People who buy this book are obviously interested in Network Marketing and are going to be very qualified.
Once again, you're going to need to learn some internet marketing skills before you get to the point of making sales (unless you're a seasoned pro in which case I highly recommend buying the book and adding it to your affiliate arsenal).
I hope this two-part article series has given you an honest opinion on what to expect with the Renegade Network Marketer.
I do think the book is worth its' $67 price. However, don't be fooled into thinking this book is all you'll ever need to know about building your mlm business.
Expect to continuously be learning. Any smart business owner should realize that a $67 product wouldn't be able to provide you with that type of a level of information.
